How to clean the bedding?
Summer is a sweaty season. We often smell a “sweat odor” in public places. The key is that this “sweat odor” can’t be washed off, and it turns yellow over time. Similarly, the reflection on our pillows is also extremely obvious.
In summer, how can we wash off this “sweat smell”?
Some people felt sweaty, so they quickly changed to wash with hot water, thinking that they could be washed, but they did not know that this would undoubtedly accelerate the permeation of sweat into the fabric.
Principle: Sweat contains a lot of water, a small amount of salt, protein, urea and other organic substances. Protein is soluble in water in the form of colloid at room temperature. Once heated, it will coagulate and not easily dissolve in water; sunlight or air oxidation will also turn into yellow dirt that is difficult to wash off.
The same also includes “blood stains, juice, milk, soy milk, broth, etc.” which all contain protein and cannot be cleaned with hot water.
1. Cold salt water to remove sweat stains
The sweat stained fabric turns yellow because of the oxidation of the protein inside. Someone did an experiment: I soaked sweat-stained clothes in saline for an hour and found that the sweat was washed away. So I did another experiment: Mix 1000 ml of water with 50 grams of salt, soak the sweat-stained clothes, and the effect is remarkable.
2. Edible baking soda to remove stains
Dissolve about 25 grams of baking soda in 500 grams of hot water, shake it fully to dissolve it completely, and when it cools to below 40 degrees, soak the sweat-stained clothes. You don’t even need washing powder, just wash it dry. Clean.
3. Eating vinegar to remove sweat stains
Apply white vinegar to the sweat stains for about 10 minutes. After the acetic acid in the vinegar has fully reacted with the sweat protein, put it in the washing machine. You can also squeeze the juice from a thick slice of lemon with the peel and mix it with about 100 ml of water to replace the edible white vinegar. The method of use is the same and the effect is also excellent.

1. Remove color stains
Some naughty children will paint their world everywhere with colored pens. If they are not paying attention, the bedside cover will become his canvas. At this time, you can buy some oxalic acid (in granular form) from a chemical store, soak and scrub the bedding with color stains in water that dissolves oxalic acid to remove traces.
2. Clean the yellowed bedding
A long-used quilt pillow, etc., will find yellow marks on it. It is simple and effective to add orange peels with rice washing water. Save the rice washing water or put the orange peels in a pot and boil them, then soak the yellowed quilt cover pillowcases. Among them, scrubbing can easily restore its whiteness. Not only is it simple, but unlike the fluorescent whitening agents sold in the market, it will have side effects on the skin and will not damage the fabric. It is a good way to try.
